Aldon 4014 Series SaberTooth® Portable Derails
Temporary derailing protection. SaberTooth® Portable Derails are designed for freight cars and locomotives. One-way and two way models available.
Formed Steel Plate Housing: No welds in shear plane to fail. Full contact with rail head.
Safety Hook: If brace bar notch should slip off tie plate, hook bites into tie. Prevents derail from slipping.
Tool-free Installation: No wrenches needed. Four thumbscrews anchor derail to rail head. No damage to rail surfaces.
CAUTION!
Install derails on exposed rail track only.
In curved track, only install derail on outer curved rail.
Aldon derails are designed for cars and locomotives operating at slow switching speeds (5 mph / 8kmh or less).
Technical Details
Tie-Biting Hook at the bottom of the stepped tie brace prevents the derail from being dislodged during derailing.
Four stainless steel thumbscrews secure the derail from rolling sideways or lifting up.
Height above rail 2.75" (70mm).
Blue derail flag and holder included.
Derail can be padlocked.
Bright, durable, yellow powdercoat finish.
